“If a tornado went into a volcano, think of the lava!!!”

It’s this kind of thinking that helped to spawn the innovative genre of filmmaking known as “Movies from Space.”

“Independent Film” was Rome. And the republic of Rome, which was supposed to become the perfect equal republic for all, rapidly sank into anarchy under the onslaught of barbarian invaders from the north and east, and probably the south.

So what happened??!?! Were they destined to fail? Did locusts and other biblical prophecies bring Rome to its knees? No. They simply got greedy.

“Independent Film” was like that presidential hopeful that came into town on a rustic wagon, brandishing a bullhorn, spewing out promises of a better future for all, promises of tax cuts and healthcare for all. But after being elected, the new President broke those promises and sold healthcare and tax cuts to the highest bidder, leaving the middle class out in the cold cold streets in the wintertime.

“Movies from Space” is what Rome was supposed to be. “Movies from Space” is Grover Cleveland, the honest president. Independent Film no longer holds its original meaning. Independent film has succumbed to barbarians from the north and east and sunk into the Hollywood Sea.

“Movies from Space” is our last hope.
